Youth Tour

Every year the electric cooperatives afford young people an opportunity to experience Washington, DC, in a way they’ve never experienced it before. Students on the tour learn about their sponsoring electric cooperative, American history and U.S. government. Also it is a chance to meet other teens from across the U.S. who share many common interests.

Scholarships

Gift Certificates

Have you ever had a hard time buying a gift for someone?

Everyone has had a time when they really did not know what to get someone. One possible answer is a gift certificate from Craig Botetourt Electric Cooperative.

Here is how it works. The person you would be buying the gift certificate for must have an active account with the electric cooperative. The gift certificate can be bought in any amount and would be shown as a credit on the recipient’s bill for the month. You would download the attached form, print and fill it out completely and mail into our offices. We would then process the gift on the next billing of that member’s account.

So the next time you are buying for someone who has everything, remember, they always use electricity and we are sure it would be greatly appreciated by the recipient.

Report A scam

We urge member-owners to be alert for phone calls from scammers who claim to be from CBEC stating that accounts are overdue and payment is due immediately.

If you receive a suspicious call, please keep the following in mind:

  • CBEC does not use collection agencies to contact members by phone.
  • If you receive a phone call from someone claiming to be an CBEC employee demanding immediate payment, report the suspicious activity to local law enforcement.

If you are uncertain if a call you received came from a legitimate CBEC representative please call us directly at 800-760-2232.

Serious Medical Condition

This program was created to assist member-owners who have a serious medical condition. Its goal is to provide adequate time prior to the termination of electric service to either enter into a payment arrangement with CBEC or make alternative arrangements for medical care.
